Ukrainian Canadians have been a part of the Canadian cultural mosaic since 1891. They have made a profound mark on the development of Canada through their contributions to arts and culture, politics, education, and sports. According to the 2016 Census, Ukrainian Canadians number 1,359,655 or 3.8 percent of the country’s population and are mainly Canadian-born citizens.
